• Take Rte 7 South toward Great Barrington. 
   
• Follow Rte 7 South through the north end of Great Barrington. You will pass Pete’s Ford on your left and a traffic signal at the Price Chopper/Kmart shopping plaza. 
   
• At the next traffic signal, turn left onto Rte 23 East (toward Monterey). 
   
• Continue about 3.5 miles on Rte 23 (past Butternut Ski Basin) to Rte 57/182 East.
   
• Bear right onto Rte 57 East towards New Marlborough and Southfield.
   
• Follow Rte 57 about 5.5 miles to New Marlborough village.
   
• Turn right at sign to “Southfield” and “Canaan, CT.” This is the New Marlborough-Southfield Road. (The road is opposite the New Marlborough Village Green and the Old Inn on the Green.)
   
• Continue 1.3 miles on New Marlborough-Southfield Road to a steel bridge on left.
   
• Turn left over bridge onto Norfolk Road. You are now in the village of Southfield.
   
• Go about a quarter mile to the Southfield Store on the right.
   
• Our parking lot is on the left, opposite the store.

 

• From Western New York State, Hillsdale NY and South Egremont, Massachusetts
   
• Take Rte 23 East to South Edgemont center.
   
• Bear right (east) onto the Egremont-Sheffield Road. (You will pass the South Egremont Inn.)
   
• Continue east to Rte 7 and Sheffield.
   
• Turn right onto Rte 7 South. Continue south toward Sheffield center and Maple Avenue. (see below)

From Sheffield

• Go to Rte 7.
   
• Take Rte 7 to Sheffield center and Maple Avenue.

All

• Turn onto Maple Avenue (heading east). Coming from Egremont, this will be a left turn.
   
• Continue on Maple Avenue. Maple Avenue becomes County Road.
   
• Follow signs to Mill River and Buggywhip Antiques.
   
• Continue into the village of Mill River.
   
• Turn left at “T” intersection just past the Mill River Store.
   
• Continue 2 miles (south) to steel bridge on the right. Turn right (south) over bridge.
   
• You are now in the village of Southfield.
   
• Continue about a quarter mile to the Southfield Store on your right.
   
• Our parking lot is on the left opposite the store.

From Airport:

• Exit terminal and follow signs to I87 South.
   
• Follow I87 South to I-90 East.

From Albany:

• Follow I-90 East to Exit B3.
   
• Take Rte 22 South.
   
• Turn left onto Rte 102 East.
   
• Follow Rte 102 East into Massachusetts and through the village of West Stockbridge.
   
• Turn right onto Rte 41 South and continue into Great Barrington.
   
• Turn left at traffic signal where Rte 41 merges with Rte 23/7.
   
• Take Rte 23/7 North (over bridge) to next traffic signal.
   
• Bear right, following signs for Rte 23.
   
• Continue on Rte 23E to the junction of Rte 57/183 East (about 1.5 miles past Butternut Ski Basin).
   
• Bear right onto Rte 57 East towards New Marlborough and Southfield.
   
• Follow Rte 57 about 5.5 miles to New Marlborough village.
   
• Turn right at sign with sign to “Southfield” and “Canaan, CT.” This is the New Marlborough- Southfield Road. (The road is opposite the New Marlborough Village Green and the Old Inn on the Green.)
   
• Continue 1.3 miles on New Marlborough-Southfield Road to steel bridge on left.
   
• Turn left over bridge onto the Norfolk Road. You are now in the village of Southfield
   
• Go about a quarter mile to the Southfield Store on the right.
   
• Our parking lot is on the left, opposite the store.

The trip from Albany takes about 1 1/2 hours.

• Go to Rte 44.
   
• Take Rte 44 to Norfolk, CT
   
• In Norfolk center, turn onto Rte 272 North
   
• Continue on Rte 272 into Massachusetts.
   
• Southfield village and the Southfield Store are 8 miles from the intersection of Rte 44 and Rte 272 North.
   
• The store will be on the left.
   
• Our parking lot is on the right, opposite the store.

• Follow I95 (New England Thruway) to Bridgeport, CT and Route 8 North. Or, follow the Merritt Parkway to Rte 8 North.
   
• Take Rte 8 North all the way to Winsted, CT. (Winsted is the next town past Torrington, CT, just before the Massachusetts state line)
   
• In Winsted center, turn onto Rte 44 West.
   
• Stay on Rte 44 West leaving Winsted center and continue on Rte 44 about 9 miles to Norfolk, CT.
   
• In Norfolk center, turn right onto Rte 272 North.
   
• Continue on Rte 272 N about 8 miles to Southfield, MA.
   
• The Southfield Store is on the left.

• Bear right onto Rte 57/183 East towards New Marlborough and Southfield.
   
• Follow Rte 57 about 5.5 miles to New Marlborough village.
   
• Turn right at sign to “Southfield” and “Canaan, CT.” This is the New Marlborough-Southfield Road (and is opposite the New Marlborough village green and the Old Inn on the Green.)
